The Character Guys are licensed to kill you with laughter*
“Working with Mike and his team was an absolute pleasure. From the creative ideas and partnership to build out our event vision, to the execution of brilliant characters and hosting on site. A true professional and critical to the success of our event theme. Mike, thank you for everything you did to make it so fantastic. Including a lot of weather dodging logistics!”
—Claire Duncan, Director of Event Production, Cantrav Services
PLEASE NOTE: The Character Guys are not actually licensed by any authority, foreign or domestic, to kill anyone with laughter, but they’ll give it a solid try.
It was a dark and stormy night, as the cliché goes. During the worst wind storm of the year, The Character Guys deployed their best secret agents across the angry waters of the Strait of Georgia to the Cargill Canada Gala Awards Night at Crystal Garden in Victoria. Aboard the ferry, the deck pitched and heaved, as did some of the cast. They arrived on time, dressed to kill, and only a little green around the edges.
Providing atmospheric entertainment, James Bond and company roamed cocktail hour, while living gold statues posed on pedestals. Bond, KGB agent Romanova, Ernst Blofeld, Vesper Lynd, and Jaws put guests to the Spy Challenge to determine if they were Mi5 or KGB material.
During the show, James Bond took the stage as emcee for the night, keeping the program on track and bringing up the energy with comic flair.
- We give Claire Duncan & Catrav DMC Services a standing ovation for brilliant event production, decor and concept creation on this.
- Update: Cantrav is up for a CSE Award for entertainment for this event! Fingers crossed!
